MacHeads...
I made Top Ramen for lunch today and I was gonna watch an episode of Desperate Housewives on hulu when I noticed a video called
"MacHeads". Description said "MacHeads is a feature length documentary which explores the loyalty of Apple Fanatics and their obsession." So I clicked on it and ended up watching this instead. The video opens with the definition of 'Machead' off of Urban Dictionary - n. a term for a person who regularly uses and is somewhat obsessed with Apple computers, or Macs. It starts off with this man who's obsessed with 'good macs', his obsession cost him his life, in the way that he is alone. This other man, who isn't a Machead says the beauty of a Windows computer crashing is that while it reboots he "lives life", while macs, which never crash, don't let you live. That man is dumb. Like are you serious? Do you think Mac users just sit at their computers and don't do ANYTHING? Obviously you're wrong. I'm on my Mac, watching this video, eating soup I just made! I agree with the kid in the video where he says when people have mac vs. pc arguments, the mac arguer holds great logical backed-up reasons, while the pc end just says "mac sucks" hahaha I thought this kid was spot on.
A bit more into the video we meet a sort of a hippie woman who writes music, hopefully not limited to pig opera's haha. She claims that the mac makes her feel alive and has been a long time mac supporter since the 80s. Her husband runs a small computer museum and makes clothes in an old bus. The clothes he makes are something of william shakespeare times but totally compatible with your ipod ware! weird...
He shows us an old IBM. Back then when you bought a computer you had to do some "assembling"
"Revolution" of the computer. The mac came out as the computer for the rest of us, a computer that's already fully assembled. The point of the mac was to be powerful and easy to use. The mac used pictures instead of words. This format allowed a whole different class of people to use computers and their technology. "Support the revolution."
The movie goes on about the Mac Community. The first MacHeads... people excited about the computer because it allowed them to do so much, especially for creativity because other computers were for business, counting, and accounting, and numbers.
Moving on, the documentary goes into a Mac Support repair store where people bring in their old computers for fixing and a worker describes how it would make more sense to just buy a new computer but these people are so attached to their computers he feels like it's a vet for macs. An Apple Evangelists explains that Macheads feel that their mac is an extension of themselves.
The expo used to be the place where you learn about the technology and products because back then there was no internet to look up these electronics and so this was where you went to find about the specs and such.
There was this one time in my life I would have been able to go to MacWorld a few years back because Jamie's cousin went to MacWorld and had two extra tickets but no one ended up going with him, and that weekend me and andy were up at PUC to pack our things and move down. That was our chance but missed it :(
Okay well, that should be it for now. I'll continue more about the film some other time. But for now I've got a class assignment to do. TTUNT! tata until next time haha
Ugh, school...
So today I officially enrolled into class. I was able to register and, thanks to God, pay for school. I was cutting it really close to not being able to pay and now I need to borrow $100 from Andy so I can get my text book which I will purchase on Thursday after class. Now I'm at Andy's to pick up the money and to hang out until he heads out to bowl. Speaking of bowling, I went bowling last Friday night for the first time in a long time. I think the last time I might had gone bowling was Alumni wknd with Josh and the guys, and Mr. Crosgrove. This time it was with Andy, who came to Glendale to hang out and eat Camille's shepherd's pie, Stephen, Camille's friend who met with us at Camille's, and Mike and Pepe, who met us at the bowling alley. Me and Andy were the first one's to Jewel City Bowling to put our group down on the list while Camille and Stephen went out for coffee and hanging out. Pepe and Mike arrived after playing Time Crisis 4 and Mario Kart. Camille and Stephen opted out of actually bowling, but met up with us at the alley. First game of bowling Andy, of course, whooped our asses. But the second game, or what of it we could play before our hour was over, it was close between me and andy. I wanna bowl. Wish I could bowl every week. First I needa straighten our school stuff and then get a job. But as the time being, tonight I'm working on a collage of me, it's for class, and Thursday - class, buy book, read chapter 1. Until tomorrow TTUNT tata until next time!
More Catch Up

So last May, Andy got a gun. A Remington Express 870. He was a great natural at it the first time he took it out shooting. i was so proud of him! i've never shot it cuz it's too heavy for me, i can barely carry it, but i really wanna go shooting. Jus recently, Remington came out with compact versions of their guns, so i want the comoact version of andy's gun cuz it'd the cheapest. I want it for my bday, i asked my parents for a gun as my grad present but they looked at me like i was crazy. so i guess i'll hafta wait til me and andy can split for it, cuz i know he wants a second gun. i jus hope he'll want a compact version of his haha. i can't wait til i find a gun i can carry and go shooting. i like shooting. i loved laser tag as a kid, the sport of it. and a couple years ago my cousin and i had an airsoft gun phase, and last year i went paintballing for the first time, i loved it, and
i was pretty good for being a first timer. Andy was so proud of me, and so was i!
Now on Meeanne...
So I started off the year in Redlands where we spent New Year's Eve. Cousins slept over*, Andy came to Redlands to spend New Year's with me, and just hung out with my cousins while my parents were in San Francisco with visiting family.
Lately I have been spending a lot of time with Camille. Just hanging out, mostly sleeping over. She had a boyfriend in Hawaii, causing her to wanna move out there, but in recent events she is no longer planning to move there and she no longer has a boyfriend. But she was having me come over cuz she was on winter break and was lonely and her parents wanted me to keep her company while she was on vacation. Then she wanted me over even more when her best friend moved to Hawaii to marry her boyfriend. And the most recent wanted my company after her boyfriend broke up with her. After school last Thursday, I stopped by Camille's house on my way to Pasadena, to pick up my laptop charger after having left it there the previous Tuesday night. That's when Camille told me she was single and so wanted me to come back later that night after watching Mary Poppins with Bea.
So, I returned to Glendale after the show to stay for 3 nights and hung out with Camille, mostly stayed in and didn't even go outside even when the rain stopped and the sun came out to reveal what appeared to be a beautiful day out.
Previously on Meeanne...
So i haven't blogged in over a year, it's now 2010. If you're wondering how that's pronounced it's "twnety-ten". Apparently, last decade we had been saying the year wrong. Rather than "two thousand four" we were supposed to say "twenty oh four" because in the 1900's we said
for 1904 we said 19 oh 4, not "one thousand nine hundred four"
we went from saying 19 ninety-nine, to two-thousand...
but anyways, enough about the times, it's time for me
what the hell have i been up to?
I'm still a student at CSUN, still haven't had a job since Forever21, and thank God I'm still with Andy. Spring of last year I applied to graduate Winter 2009, failed to get into all the classes I needed to* and so I've changed the date of my graduation to Spring 2011.
Why such a drastic change in grad date? because of the damned economy THAT'S why!
Times are so hard. First for the work force, and when I thought i was safe in a school system and thought i was in a haven where i, myself, would not be affected the economy but times are hard even for us students. The budget was cut and so were the classes, making it hard to get into what i needed to take obviously. Now advisors are saying to students, you can graduate Fall 2010 IF you can get into your classes. fuck. So i opted for Spring 2011, and IF i'm able to get into all the classes i need next semester, i'll be able to graduate Fall 2010.
Last June my sister had a daughter making me the aunt of a neice, and last July i spent my first 4th of July with Andy on my first trip to Catalina Island. Last August me and andy celebrated our 5th anniversary and in September I was a bridesmaid in Bea & Chris' wedding that ended a 9 month engagement. In October I celebrated Halloween in Redlands to witness Kalaya's first Halloween and in November spent Thanksgiving with my dad's cousin's family, the Tabije's and such. 'Twas an awkward one seeing as that part of the family is very cliquey with each other and it was my first time in years since i've seen those cousins and had nothing to talk about with them. Last December i celebrated my 23rd birthday at John's Incredible Pizza Co. with the Bilbao's, my family, Camille, Avonlea, and Andy.
