i haven't toilet blogged in a while and thought i would do that this morning as i do my thang. anyways, that up there is tthe welcome card i made for nicoole and her fam when they moved from new york. it was my first attempt on a pop up card, i don't know what inspired the colors, but after i had worked on the card, i noticed one of the disney channel summer logos were the same color scheme. i thought the colors were fun and sunny and summer-y, so i thought it'd be a great way to reflect southern california. i had boat and palm tree stencil, although the palm tree stencil was very bland and abstract so i added details to the frongs which was alotta work. but i needed something to anchor them to the paper and bbring em up, so i drew out a philippine flag style half-sun to look like a sun set on the ocean behind the bboat and palm tree to bbring em out. the boat
and the tree aren't attached to the card itself, but to the sun by tabs i cut from the sun.
